Late notice I know but any chance you could let the band members know there is a free choir concert tomorrow (Wednesday) in Malmesbury Abbey. The performers are a youth choir from Bad Hersfeld in Germany. Malmesbury’s latest twin town agreement and something I have been working on for nearly 10 years. The choir is 120 strong and they have won numerous awards in several different countries so a good quality choir. The doors open at 6.30pm and it starts at 7.30pm, more importantly it is free!

Best wishes

Jeff

Message:

Hello,

What was a splendid way to begin our summer season. I thought the band sounded exceptionally excellent and I was pleased with all the solos! Well done everyone, soloist or not! The Mayor and the Vicar agreed and told us so. Today, as I waited for the re-enactment to begin, there was good feedback feedback from towns folk.

On Friday we will have a look at a John Williams arrangement of Film music for our annual concert in November. One piece in it is Jaws so and Ill want someone to give a mighty scream during it. Formerly only women were asked, but that cant be done anymore so the scream is open to everyone. Well have tryouts on Friday. Practice up!

Our next engagement is on Sunday May 19th at Stratford Park Bandstand. Unusually we play from 2 to 4,
Which is early. Youll need to be prepared to start at 2pm. You all know our summer uniform now!

This Friday,
Well have a look at:
American in Paris
Murder on the Dance Floor
Runnin Wild (add finale)
Beatles Forever sort beginning
John Williams in Concert 5:30 https://youtu.be/KfS1ZyTevaE?si=-3ezyJXftWUne25A- to be handed out
British Legion March - to be handed out

Message:

Hi All

This was posted on a local web forum 4 days ago. Just something to be aware of when we promote the Annual Concert.

The following advice has been issued by Wiltshire Council, which will be sent round also to Town and Parish Councils. Fly-posting and promoting community events - As you may know, we have increased our enforcement of illegal fly-posting throughout the county. This follows feedback from communities that additional enforcement is required to address this issue. As stated in the Town and Country Planning Regulations 2007, fly-posting takes place when advertisements are displayed without the consent of the owner or occupier of the land or premises. We are reminding all advertisers, including town and parish councils, that before they can place any signs on Wiltshire Council land, they must have approval. If your communities are thinking about advertising on Wiltshire Council land, they must contact their Local Highways team: •

northernhighways@wiltshire.gov.uk

westernhighways@wiltshire.gov.uk

southernhighways@wiltshire.gov.uk

Applicants will need to give the reason for the signage, its location, how long it will be in place for, and the types of signage to be used so the application can be considered. To allow an assessment of the application the Local Highways team will need a minimum of four weeks’ notice before the event.
