Book now2019 160th Anniversary ExtravaganzaTo celebrate its 160th anniversary, the Malmesbury Concert Band (MCB) will be performing a very special Musical Extravaganza in Malmesbury Abbey on Saturday, 12th October.

The Extravaganza will include a great selection of popular, classical, big-band, jazz and some original music. In addition, for this special event, the concert will include Salon Baroque, three local professional musicians/actors, Julia Bowen, Jacqueline Tong and Helen Coombes, who will perform music from the Great American Songbook with readings from Noel Coward and Dorothy Parker.

Furthermore, Malmesbury Abbey Choir, with the Concert Band, will bring the whole event to a memorable conclusion with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance March No 1.

The event has been generously sponsored by local companies Hilditch Group, Blount & Maslin, Forrester Sylvester Mackett, The Old Bell Hotel, and the James Dyson Foundation. The Malmesbury Area Board has given financial support towards the public address system.

Tony Fleming, MCB’s Director of Music said: “ We have held our annual musical extravaganza for several years. But this anniversary event, for which we have been preparing for many months, will be very special indeed. We are enormously grateful for the contribution from Salon Baroque and Malmesbury Abbey Choir, and from our sponsors.”
